Flavio Briatore was surprised to read reports where McLaren CEO Martin Whitmarsh has told reporters they would love to have Fernando Alonso in their car later this week to test the car. Briatore has said McLaren never approached Renault for an official request.
Speaking with Gazzetta dello Sport Briatore said: "I believe McLaren send their request to the wrong address. If they want Alonso to join them in earlier they should talk to Renault and not with reporters."
Briatore didn't consider an early release yet for Alonso. "I haven't thought about this yet and I don't think it is so important really," Briatore said. "I wish Fernando a merry Christmas and a relaxing holiday, because when the season starts we will beat him."
