Jerez Day 2: Kovalainen fastest
13 December 2006 / Results / PhotosOn the second day of testing Renault's driver Heikki Kovalainen was the fastest man out on track. The Renault drivers was half a second faster than Ferrari's test driver Luca Badoer. Sebastien Bourdais returned in an F1 car after four years with Toro Rosso.

Wednesday was the second day of testing in Jerez. On Tuesday Toyota kicked off testing at the Spanish track, but today the majority of the F1 teams joined the Cologne-based F1 team. Many eyes were on the three-times Champcar champion Sebastien Bourdais. Scuderia Toro Rosso invited the Frenchman for an official test session with the team.
There were a couple of red flags today. Liuzzi blew up his engine when he entered the pitlane. Honda's test driver James Rossiter caused a red flag when he stopped his car on track.
