Ferrari team boss Jean Todt has revealed that he considered leaving his role as chief of the F1 team, but was unable to because of all the other personnel changes going on - namely the retirement of Schumacher and Ross Brawn's break.
"This period of change denied me the right to abandon ship," said Todt told French newspaper Le Figaro. "But if everyone had remained - namely Michael, Ross Brawn, and Paolo Martinelli, I would have probably left."
Todt would have retired from the post but still kept some involvement with Ferrari. He may yet do so if Ross Brawn returns at the end of next year to take over.
