Andretti wants to win 500 then join F1

Marco Andretti wants to win the Indy 500 race before he even thinks about switching to racing in the F1 championship. Andretti will get his first run in a Formula One car with Honda today.

"F1 is a big dream of mine," Andretti told the Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper. "In a perfect world I'd like to win the Indy 500 and then come to Europe."

Honda has moved to insist the test is nothing more than a one-day trial and if things go well it could turn into something else, but the team is keen not to put pressure on Andretti at this stage.
