Lewis Hamilton wrapped up the final day of testing this winter at Jerez by topping the time sheets, although all eyes were on the other side of the McLaren garage where Fernando Alonso made his debut at the wheel of the McLaren.

Alonso did not show up on the official timing screens as McLaren removed the timing sensor from his car so the champion could focus on acclimatising to his new ride without worrying about lap times. But some reports suggest he actually ended up third quickest.
Officially though Kovalainen and Fisichella were second and third fastest for Renault. Rossiter was fourth for Honda ahead of Kubica, Badoer, Vettel and Liuzzi.
More quietly down the order, Marco Andretti made his F1 debut covering 67 laps with Honda. He finished the day fourteenth, but only 2.5s off Hamilton's pace.
