Vettel: there's no replacement for Schumi

18 December 2006

Germany's latest young F1 talend Sebastien Vettel says there's nobody from his country who can quite fill the hole Michael Schumacher has left in the sport.

"Michael is unique, simply because of the way he approached the sport," Vettel said. "Ralf Schumacher is a different character and so is Nick Heidfeld. The drivers on other levels follow their own path as well. Everyone else seems to do things their own way."

"Michael has influenced the sport in Germany like no other driver," Vettel added. "There are several German drivers who have got what it takes to win races and become champion, but you shouldn't be too concentrated on finding a successor for Michael because there isn't one."
