Vettel taking it one year at a time
02 January 2007Sebastian Vettel is taking things one year at a time, despite his rise to F1 stardom in the past year. The 19-year-old is BMW Sauber's official test and reserve driver for the upcoming season having made his debut in practice for the Turkish Grand Prix in August.
"It was a big step and the reality of it is still sinking in," Vettel said. "Gradually I understand what I've achieved this year and what next year will mean for my development and what the future might hold."
"There's no such thing as a master plan for the next three years," he added. "An F1 career is so unpredictable but I think this is the case for all sports. Something can always get in your way, so it's almost impossible to plan way in advance. The best approach for me seems to be thinking and planning from one year to the next."
