Kubica: Don't compare me with other youngsters!

05 January 2007

BMW-Sauber F1 driver Robert Kubica has had it with the press that likes to call Robert Kubica one of the 'new generation' drivers. The Polish F1 driver believes there is no reason at all to compare young drivers with each other.

"I don't quite see the sense in this term that mainly is used by the media," he says. "There always have been new, young drivers moving up to Formula 1. Furthermore, you have to ask yourself where to draw the line. Heikki Kovalainen and Sebastian Vettel, for instance, don't belong to the same generation."

According to Kubica, the drivers shouldn't be compared with one another so often on principle. The differences between them, he claims, are just too big. "Everybody is racing in a different car and for a different team. Therefore, there comparisons often are moot," he said.
