Fernando Alonso made his debut at the wheel of the new McLaren Mercedes MP4-22 car, bearing his number 1 on the nose as reigning champion. The car, launched on Monday, got its first lap in Alonso's hands just after 10am and McLaren is spending the rest of the morning running systems checks before putting the car through its paces.
