
On Tuesday Kimi Raikkonen had his first outing in a Ferrari Formula One car. At the Italian track 'Piero Taruffi' in Vallelunga, near Rome, The Finn covered 39 laps in Ferrari's 2006 car - the 248 F1.

As Raikkonen completed his first laps for Ferrari his team-mate Felipe Massa began his week of testing in Ferrari's new car: the F2007.
The day's technical programme comprised of Raikkonen getting to know the car, while Felipe concentrated on development of the new car. Felipe Massa completed 74 laps with a best time of 1.14.493 while Raikkonen completed 39 and set a fastest time of 1.15.226.

"The first impression of the car was good even if I would have preferred more laps in the dry," Raikkonen told Italian news agent Ansa. "It was nice. I was a bit excited but it was nice to be back in a Formula 1 car again."
Massa and Raikkonen continue testing at this circuit tomorrow.
