Symonds - 2007 too close to call

23 January 2007

Renault engineering director and F1 veteran Pat Symonds says the 2007 championship is too close to call, and more difficult to predict who will be out front than any other season in his memory.

"If you look around there's so much change at all the teams this year, more than I can remember for many years, so it makes it the most difficult pre-season call I can remember," Symonds told Autosport.

"We are pretty optimistic about our chances and know what our targets are in terms of reliability," he added. "We're not going to be testing as much as in previous years, so we're very realistic about where everything is but we feel pretty good."
