Mika Hakkinen will stay in DTM for a third season, ending speculation over his future possibly as a McLaren test driver. Hakkinen's DTM future had been in doubt after a disappointing season, but Mercedes has announced he will be back.
"It's nice to continue being part of the Mercedes-Benz motorsport family," Hakkinen said. "It's important to continue my long-standing successful partnership with the team. My results in 2006 don't reflect our true potential and my target is to rectify that. I want to show what I'm capable in DTM."
