On the second day of testing at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia it was once again McLaren driver Fernando Alonso who topped the times. Renault drivers Fisichella and Kovalainen followed him with a second and third time.

Wednesday's test session began with a damp track in the morning, but with the bright skies above the track became dry fairly quick. There weren't as many incidents causing a red flag as on Tuesday but there were a few drivers with problems. Massa, Kubica and Van der Garde all spun their cars at the damp track. Dutchman Van der Garde made his Formula 1 debut with Super Aguri's 2006 car. He could only cover 4 laps though as a problem with his steering mechanism.

On Tuesday BMW test driver Vettel blew an engine, but today it was BMW's race driver Kubica who blew up his engine.

WilliamsF1 test driver Nakajima had a busy day in Valencia. The Japanese driver had to try and cover at least 300 kilometres to receive his Superlicense. He completed 116 laps and thus succeeded.

Testing will continue on Thursday.
