Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber has warned against branding F1's 2008 rookies with the kind of hype that surrounded Nico Rosberg's debut last year. The Australian was Rosberg's team mate at Williams.
"It's hard to say if the new guys are any good," Webber told F1Racing.net. "When Fernando arrived at Minardi, nobody knew what he could do until he had a team that could give him what he needed to do the business - and he did it. He lifted the team to the next level."
"Without Alonso Renault would have never got that far," Webber added. "He did a superb job, but the team did a good job for him aswell. Can Hamilton, Rosberg or Kovalainen do that in the future? Nobody knows yet. Look at Nico Rosberg, he was considered a world champion at the beginning of last season, and now what?"
