
McLaren's test driver Pedro de la Rosa was the fastest man out on track in his home country Spain. He was just ahead of WilliamsF1 driver Alexander Wurz.
Today eight Formula 1 teams travelled to Jerez in the South of Spain to continue their preparations for the upcoming F1 season. Renault's new test driver Ricardo Zonta had his first day in the Renault R27. Williams driver Alexander Wurz had his first outing in the team's new car; the FW29.
There were a couple of red flags caused by drivers stopping on track. Alexander Wurz was one of them when he stopped the car in the final minutes of today's test session. Mark Webber also had problems with his Red Bull car. He was the first driver to cause a red flag. The Australian could only complete 27 laps.
There were a total of 16 drivers on track at Jerez. Testing will continue on Wednesday.
