Valles determined to seize Spyker opportunity

06 February 2007

Adrián Vallés is set to be one of Spyker F1's four test drivers in 2007. The Spaniard, who drove for the Campos racing team in GP2 last year hopes his testing opportunity and chance to drive on Friday at the Spanish Grand Prix will propel him into the F1 big-time.

"My last September was a great chance for me," Vallés told GPUpdate.net, at the launch of the 2007 Spyker F1 car. "I seized that chance with both hands and it's worked out so well that I can now drive for this team. I hope to give a big contribution over the coming season to the car's development and help the team score points. I've been very comfortable at the wheel and everyone has been really easy to work with."

"Formula 1 is at this moment enormously popular in Spain and it would be great if I can do well during the Friday test sessions in front of my home crowd," he added. "I want to prove myself this year."

Vallés its year entirely dedicated to his commitment with Spyker F1 and will not drive in any other class this season.

"This year I'm only driving for the Spyker F1 team," he confirmed. "We will look at this season, however, to what might be possible racing-wise next year. I will not stay another year in GP2. That is the step below F1 and I'm already a test driver in F1."
