Coulthard fined over Monaco crash

David Coulthard has been fined 500 Euros for injuring a woman passenger when he crashed his car during a speedy tour of Monaco's Grand Prix circuit in 1999.

Coulthard, who was driving a Mercedes at the time lost control of the car after it hit a large puddle on the exit of the famous tunnel. He was travelling at 150kph.

The passenger only sustained a minor injury and withdrew her complaint in 2002 after he gave her compensation. However, the court still fined him after finding Coulthard guilty of accidental injury. He was not present in court for the hearing this week.
