Jerez day 3: Heidfeld fastest

Nick Heidfeld finished fastest after a very wet day of testing at Jerez in Spain. He finished ahead of Williams' Alex Wurz and BMW tester Timo Glock. Kimi Raikkonen was fourth fastest in the Ferrari, tied for the most mileage of the day with Toyota's Jarno Trulli.

Rain fell throughout the day and teams had to adjust to wet weather programmes. Conditions were so wet in the morning that teams ran monsoon tyres. 

McLaren did not seem so strong in the wet as de la Rosa finished twelfth and Alonso thirteenth after only nine laps. They were just ahead of Marco Andretti, who returned to the cockpit with Honda, 

Yesterday's pace-setter Felipe Massa ended seventh behind Rosberg in the second Williams and ahead of the two Toyotas of Trulli and Montagny. Red Bull's Coulthard and Webber were tenth and eleventh.
