Button admits Honda is behind

23 February 2007

Jenson Button has admitted that Honda is behind its rivals so far in winter testing and its unlikely they'll be able to fight on equal terms with McLaren, Renault and Ferrari in the first rounds of the season.

"Will we be there already at the first race with a car that's as quick as Renault, Ferrari or McLaren? I don't know," he told Autosport.

"I'd rather we had a quicker car - that's everyone's opinion because we're not on the pace of the top teams, which is disappointing," he added. "We do have a balance for the car and the positive thing is we've moved forward a lot and there's a lot more coming in Bahrain."

Honda will reveal its new livery in London on Monday.
