The 2007 Renault has been one of the most reliable new cars during winter testing and that has enabled the team to make some good progress, especially in the first of two tests in the Bahrain desert.
"After initially working on endurance and reliability last week, we then moved on to a set-up programme," Renault's chief test engineer Christian Silk explained. "Everything went as well as we had hoped, and we completed our programme without any problems."
"Our car has been very reliable, and the car has responded well to the different set-up options we have studied," he added. "We have had some encouraging results last week, and we will look to build on them this week with Heikki and Giancarlo."
