Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher has been nominated for the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year Award. The German, like other nominees Roger Federer and Tiger Woods, will be hoping to win the award for a third time.

Meanwhile Renault F1 has been nominated in the Team of the Year category and will be up against the All Blacks rugby team, Europe's Ryder Cup side and Spain's Basketball World Cup winners.
