Michelin loses out on rally supply

Having withdrawn from F1 to allow Bridgestone to be the sole tyre supplier in the sport, Michelin has also just lost a bid to become the sole tyre supplier to the World Rally Championship. The FIA decided to award the deal to Pirelli instead. 

"We made an offer with our BF Goodrich brand because we believed we had something good to offer, but it was not retained," Frederic Henry-Biabaud, director of competition at Michelin told Reuters.

"It was a sole-supplier deal and in general we actually prefer to be in competition," he added. "We still remain very active in motorsport competition."
