Bridgestone's tyres are working very well on the new BMW car and the team has dialled in the new package better than most during winter testing, according to driver Nick Heidfeld.
"The tyres clearly provide less grip, therefore everyone will be slower and sliding a lot more with them. When it comes to the car, however, they seem to suit the F1.07 rather well. The car was clearly developed in the right direction," said Heidfeld. "There still is quite a lot we have to learn regarding the tyres."
On the other hand, Heidfeld as a driver also can contribute to make optimum use of the tyres.
"I've got a gentle and precise style of driving," he explains. "Therefore, I hope to experience fewer problems with the new tyres than other drivers."
