Ecclestone denies Singapore deal

06 March 2007

Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone has denied that a deal has been done with a Singaporean property tycoon to host a Grand Prix in the country.

"We haven't entered into any agreement with anyone at the moment," Ecclestone told Reuters. He would not name who he was in talks with in Singapore but confirmed he had been talking to several Asian countries about holding a night race.

"I'd like to do one or two night races," he added. "It could be good in Japan or China."

Reports had suggested property tycoo Ong Beng Seng had secured the rights to a Grand Prix in Singapore.
