The organisers of the Australian Grand Prix are looking at running their race at night Formula One wants to run some races in the evening. In Melbourne Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone will discuss the idea with Australian Grand Prix chairman Ron Walker.
"We are looking at it and when Bernie gets here, we'll talk to him about it again. He hasn't said to me that we have to do it. It's an option," Ron Walker told Australian newspaper The Age. "It's not a fait accompli by any means," Mr Walker said. "There are problems with the power grid in Albert Park. It will take a massive amount of kilowatts to light up the track for the drivers, plus there are also environmental issues."
Ecclestone already admitted earlier this week a night street race in Singapore could be interesting to attract more live TV viewers in Europe.
