Mark Webber, the only F1 driver who will enjoy his home Grand Prix this weekend, expects an exciting Formula 1 season. Red Bull's new driver is optimistic that this year will be the best of his career.

Looking ahead of the upcoming season Webber said: "It's going to be, I think, the most competitive year in formula one we've seen for a long, long time," Webber told Australian newspaper the Sunday Harald. "I think that if you are competitive you will reap the rewards, and if you just drop the bubble a little it's going to be hard for you."
Webber also expects his own season to be an interesting one. "There is always talk going into a season, but we always know after the first few races how our season probably will unfold. It's very, very exciting, there's no question about it. I'm really enjoying the new environment, and that's something that wasn't unexpected. I was looking forward to working with a new team, and that's going well and we're all just looking forward to hitting the track. Hopefully it is really rewarding for myself and for the team. Of course, I want to have my best season that I've ever had in formula one, and that's my goal this year.
"It's always hard to put targets in terms of results. If I go out and get one podium it would be good - even though they're hard to get, they're not given out these days. When I say I want to have a season that's better than the previous ones, that wouldn't be hard, would it? I need to work with the team, go out there and get myself in the drivers' championship. It's as simple as that, and I want to do that … hopefully that will be this year."
