Carroll joins Kolles in DTM

Former F1 test driver Adam Carroll has confirmed he will take part in one of the world's toughest sports car championships - DTM. Racing for Team Futurecom-TME alongside Vanina Ickx, Adam will make his DTM debut later this month.

Carroll said about the announcement: "I'm really looking forward to my first race in DTM. Testing has been going well and I enjoy working with the team. The first race next week at Hockenheim will be the real test to see how competitive we are. I want to be running as high up the grid as possible in the 2005 car. I just can't wait to get racing."

Adam has been a respected force in single-seater racing throughout his career, with three wins in the GP2 series at some of toughest circuits in the world; Imola, Monaco and Spa.

In 2005 he was also part of the BAR (now Honda F1) Young Driver programme and tested the F1 car successfully on a number of occasions.

Futurecom-TME Team Principal Colin Kolles said: "Besides his achievements in motor sport it should also be mentioned that Adam is a strong character who fits in well with the team. With his experience, he'll surely help us to improve. We are all looking forward to a new exciting season and enjoyable teamwork

The first event of the ten round series starts next weekend at Hockenheim, (22 April).
