
Lewis Hamilton took the slimmest of leads in final practice for this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix, finishing the session 0.006s ahead of Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen. Just behind the leading pair, BMW continued to up the pressure, Heidfeld third 0.1s off the lead and Kubica fourth only a further 0.1s down.
It was a steaming morning in the desert with track temperature already reaching 40 degrees and air temperature climbing steadily to 30 degrees.
Anthony Davidson popped up a surprise in fifth at the wheel of his Super Aguri to pip Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso who finished half a second off the lead pace. Webber, Fisichella and Kovalainen rounded off the top ten.
