Hamilton could be best ever - Whitmarsh
18 April 2007Lewis Hamilton could become the greatest racing driver ever, according to McLaren chief executive Martin Whitmarsh. Hamilton has stormed onto the F1 scene and is currently tied on points at the head of the drivers' table with Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen.
"It's too early to analyse but if the trend continues, there's not reason why he couldn't become the greatest driver ever," Whitmarsh told the Guardian newspaper. "What I'm seeing so early in his career is remarkable."
"Since I joined McLaren in 1989 I've worked with a lot of great drivers including Prost, Senna, Hakkinen and now Alonso with Lewis and I think it's pretty clear he ticks all the necessary boxes," Whitmarsh added.
