Albers fights F-16

In the south of the Netherlands, Christijan Albers challenged a F-16 fighter jet at the Royal Dutch Airforce. F-16 pilot Ralph Aarts only just won the drag-race.

The battle between the Spyker F1 car and F-16 was closer than most expected at the start of the race. Albers easily sped away much quicker than the airplane, but in the final few hundred meters he saw the F-16 come past.

"This was extremely cool!" Albers told GPUpdate.net in Volkel. "I don't think I really lost to be honest. He was right next to me at the finish line. But anyway, it is not really that important. It's been extremely good fun and most important is that the invited guests here at the military airport enjoyed the show."

Spyker Cars president Victor Muller also enjoyed the show. "I'm very proud we could set-up such an event here. I really enjoyed Christijan and the F-16 show. It is incredible what kind of amount of G-force the airplane pilot has to deal with," Muller told GPUpdate.net.
