Flav talking about a revolution

Flav talking about a revolution

Flavio Briatore wants to see Formula One revolutionised in a bid to make it more exciting. If he had his way, drivers would have to race twice on the Sunday, in a similar fashion to F1's feeder series GP2 - the brainchild of Briatore and Bruno Michel.

"We need two races," Renault F1's chief told German magazine auto, motor und sport.

"One sprint race of 45 minutes in the morning and then a one-hour race in the afternoon."

The Italian also believes that teams should only be allowed to change tyres during pitstops, with refuelling being banned. The sprint race would serve as qualifying for the feature race, so the order of the top eight finishers would be reversed for the second grid. Points would be awarded for both races as well.
