Prodrive nets title sponsor

Prodrive nets title sponsor

27 April 2007

David Richards has claimed that Prodrive has already secured a title sponsor for its first season. The team will start racing in 2008 and Richards says he is hoping to unveil who that sponsor is at the British Grand Prix in July.

Richards has also revealed that he is in the process of talking to three technical partners, from whom the team is likely to buy customer cars. The former Benetton and BAR boss is keen to secure a partner soon in order to fuse the relationship before the winter test season.

"We want to be able to test in unison in the winter," he told Auto Motor und Sport.

"We will use their engineers, but there is no real rush at the moment. However, it is a decision that will be made sooner rather than later, and we have three options."
