Honda team boss Nick Fry has confirmed that he is talking to Ross Brawn about acquiring his services. Meanwhile in reply to Brawn's comments that he is not going to make a decision about his future before July, Fry says he is willing to wait.
"We are having talks with Ross Brawn," Fry told Autosprint magazine.
"At Ferrari his coordinating of the technical department was exemplary. His most important achievement there was getting the team to work together, by making everyone pull in the right direction.
"It's no easy feat. Every team needs that kind of figure, no one wants superstars or egotistical geniuses. Of course we'd like to have Ross Brawn on board."
However, Brawn's decision to wait until July and put Ferrari first has not put Fry off the opportunity to hire Brawn, who is currently on sabbatical. Fry is concentrating firstly on improving the poor form of the Honda car.
"At Honda there are two agendas currently. Firstly we need to solve the current issues we are having, while secondly we need to plan future developments.
"My main objective now is to stop happening again what is happening now. The fact that Ross Brawn still needs till July to decide what he wants to do fits in fine with our planning," he added.
