Felipe Massa was fifth fastest in the second Ferrari, whilst the ever-impressive Anthony Davidson put in a late quick lap to end up sixth in his elusive Super Aguri.
Toyota showed itself to be the leading midfield team again with a solid seventh and eighth for Jarno Trulli and Ralf Schumacher respectively. Meanwhile, Nico Rosberg in his Williams and Jenson Button for Honda rounded up the top ten.
There were no major incidents with only David Coulthard and Chrsitijan Albers going off on minor excursions.
