Lewis Hamilton set the pace in final practice ahead of this afternoon's qualifying session at the  Circuit de Catalunya, finishing the session 0.079s ahead of team mate Fernando Alonso. The BMW duo of Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld were third and fourth.

It was a generally uneventful session in which Hamilton, Alonso, Massa and Raikkonen all occupied the top spot on the timesheets. Hamilton and Alonso only moved clear in the final ten minutes when the teams switched to a quick run on the softer compound tyre. Massa and Raikkonen ended sixth and seventh behind Coulthard.

Anthony Davidson gave Super Aguri hope in eighth ahead of Nico Rosberg and Heikki Kovalainen.
