British GP turns to starlet for boost

Gemma Atkinson has been officially unveiled as the Female Face of the 2007 FORMULA 1™ Santander British Grand Prix. The former Hollyoaks star turned model has been called upon by organisers of the British Grand Prix to set pulses racing. Along with the recent success of Britain's Lewis Hamilton, the organisers will be hoping that the 22-year-old will increase interest in the event. Spyker supplied one of its F1 cars at the unveiling of Atkinson.

"I'm a huge F1 fan, so the opportunity to be part of the British Grand Prix is fantastic for me," the girlfriend of Manchester United star Ronaldo said.

"I've never been before but I've heard that the atmosphere is amazing. To experience the sheer noise and power of the cars will be unbelievable. As this year's Face of the British Grand Prix I'll be heading to Silverstone on 8 July, so will be able to wish all the British drivers good luck in person."
