Jarno Trulli believes anything could happen at this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix due to the unpredictability of the event. However, despite the Toyota driver's confidence around the principality's streets, Trulli is concentrating on making Toyota the top midfield team rather than going for glory.
"Realistically we know we cannot target a victory, but at Monte Carlo certain circumstances can gift you a win or a podium," Trulli told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"On the other hand everything can go up in smoke instead, as it did last year, when the gearbox on my car broke with five laps left."
The Italian scored his only win to date at the street circuit in 2004 and put in a late storming lap in yesterday's second practice session to claim fourth spot.
"Free practice wasn't bad, but I'm keeping my feet on the ground because Monte Carlo can always surprise. I've always felt good here, and once again I went really quick, but I'll wait until after qualifying before making a judgement. We are consistently in what I call the second group: Renault, Red Bull, Williams and us. We aim to be the best of these teams, but we must not lose anymore important points like we did in Spain," he added.
