
Lewis Hamilton has moved to calm the furore he caused at Monaco when he suggested that Alonso got a preferential treatment and strategy from the team which meant he would win the race. The words ended up sparking an FIA investigation into any infringement of the rules.
At Montreal Hamilton moved to calm the media fury that followed the Monaco Grand Prix.
"I've got a really strong belief in the team and all the guys want to win," Hamilton said. "No-one is biased - they are all very level and very equal."
Speaking about the controversy following the Monaco Grand Prix Hamilton said, "I could see the story was just getting out of control and was quite surprised that such a big thing was made out of it. Fernando did a fantastic job in the race and there's no doubt he did the best job and deserved to win. My time will come."
