Lewis Hamilton was delighted with his second win at Indianapolis after driving a faultless race.  The 22-year-old also said that there was no animosity between himself and his team-mate after a close scrap between the two on lap 39.

Hamilton said: "What a dream! To come into two circuits in the North America that I've never driven before and to come into them at such pace and take two wins is fantastic. To see how much work the team has done back home to develop this car, they have done a fantastic job. The guys out here too doing the strategy - it's the perfect team and I'm happy to put the icing on the cake."

Fernando Alonso came close to spoiling Hamilton's race after the first round of pit-stops when the two went side by side down the main straight with the two-time champion eventually yielding around turn one.

Hamilton commented on Alonso: "He fought very well and was very professional. During the middle stint my tyres went green after I maybe pushed too hard on the new set after the pit-stop. He therefore got into my slipstream. However, I managed to pull a gap and maintain it to win the race. The last 15 laps seemed like a lifetime being in the lead. But I was able to do it and it's very emotional."
