Briatore expects Alonso to win championship

Renault F1 team boss Flavio Briatore believes Fernando Alonso will beat his team-mate Lewis Hamilton to win the Formula 1 World Championship title this season at McLaren. Briatore was Alonso's team boss from 2003 until last year.

At the moment Lewis Hamilton is leading the championship with 58 points, ten points more than team-mate Alonso. But Briatore is convinced the Spaniard will win the championship at the end of the season. He told Spanish newspaper AS: "I am sure Fernando (Alonso) will win it. He knows what to expect. Last year everyone expected him to lose the title but he kept pushing and won the title."
