Lewis Hamilton may be forced to quit the UK to protect his private life and avoid increasing media intrusion, McLaren boss Ron Dennis claimed. Hamilton has rarely been out of the press since he won his maiden GP in Canada over a week ago, his fame even leaeding to a spot on MTV where he picked out his favourite top ten songs of all time.
"If there's a continuous invasion of his privacy, he'll have to find somewhere else to live to avoid it," Dennis is quoted as saying in a number of British newspapers.
Other British F1 drivers such as David Coulthard and Jenson button have moved to Monaco to escape the media glare, and of course enjoy generous tax breaks.
"The invasion of his privacy is becoming a big issue," Dennis added. "It's something we'll avoid at all costs."
Hamilton grew up just north of London in Stevenage and also has an apartment in Woking, near to the McLaren team's factory.
