Massa finishes Silverstone test on top

Felipe Massa finished this week's Silverstone test session on top of the timesheets with a best lap of 1m20.8s as Ferrari continued to test a major aero update to its car. Massa finished the day 0.4s up on the next quickest driver, Nico Rosberg.

Fernando Alonso was third fastest, less than a tenth behind Rosberg and a tenth ahead of Renault test driver Nelsinho Piquet Jr. Alonso's day got off to a late start as mechanics spent a couple of hours in the morning hard at work.

Trulli was fifth in the Toyota, 0.9s off the pace byt ahead of Coulthard, Glock in the BMW, Speed in the Toro Rosso and Albers and van der Garde out again for Spyker.
