Hamilton blames poor start for loss

01 July 2007 / Results / Photos

Lewis Hamilton maintained his perfect record of finishing on the podium in every one of his F1 races so far this season, but he finished a long way behind the two Ferraris. Hamilton was left feeling that he lost the race right at the start when Raikkonen got ahead of him.

"I didn't get off to the best start and I don't know what happened yet - I just saw Kimi come flying past," Hamilton said. "I just had to stay as close as possible. I had good pace in the first stint and was a bit quicker than Kimi and tried to keep with him, but it's impossible to pass here unless you are a lot faster."

Despite that Hamilton extended his lead in the championship over Alonso to fourteen points.
