Red Bull F1 test driver Robert Doornbos has won his first Champ Car race on Sunday. The Dutchman finished first at the Canadian track Mont-Tremblant ahead of reigning champion Sebastien Bourdais.
Robert Doornbos is Red Bull Racing's test and reserve driver this season and is also active in the Champ Car series for the Minardi Team USA, owned by former F1 team owner Paul Stoddart. Doornbos was incredible happy with his first win and already his fifth podium in six races. "This is amazing! It wasn't an easy race but it is an amazing result. I think the rest of the season will be very exciting."
Championsleader was not amused though with Doornbos' race. "The way Robert drove today was not like him. He knows exactly what he has done. We are not allowed to drive like that in Champ Car. He changed lanes about three times…"
