DTM organisers cancel Spyker F1 demo

DTM organisers cancel Spyker F1 demo

21 July 2007

At the end of the month Christijan Albers was scheduled to take part in a spectacular demonstration run at the Dutch track in Zandvoort. Albers and the Spyker F1 team were hired by the organisers to attract more racing fans to the DTM event, but as Albers' role at the Spyker team was placed on hold the organisers decided to cancel the demonstration.

According to the Spyker F1 team Christijan Albers had to give up his racing seat at the Dutch team because of financial problems with one of his sponsors. Without Albers the DTM organisers do not expect the same effect if Spyker were to run another driver and thus there will not be a Formula 1 event in The Netherlands this year at Zandvoort.
