In Jerez the Formula 1 teams began their three-day test in preparation of the Hungarian Grand Prix. GP2 driver Michael Ammermueller was scheduled to test for the Red Bull Racing team but the team had to replace him as he was unable to test.

Ammermueller has had a difficult racing season so far. At the GP2 opening race in Bahrain Ammermuller finished the race with a broken wrist. He rejoined his ART Grand Prix team at the French Grand Prix but one week later, at Silverstone, he hurt his wrist again in a crash. He therefore had to Sunday's race at the Nurburgring.

A Red Bull Racing spokesperson explained to GPUpdate.net: "Ammermueller's wrist is still not recovered well enough and so the team decided to give Sebastien Buemi a day of testing at Jerez today."

Sebastien Buemi is a busy man this season. He is racing in the F3 Euroseries, but replaced Ammermueller already twice in both Monaco and at the Nurbugring last weekend.
