Earlier today the Spyker F1 team announced that Sakon Yamamoto will finish the season with the Silverstone based team. Spyker team boss Colin Kolles is convinced Yamamoto is the right driver for the team as he believes the 25-year-old is one of the most promising young drivers out there.
Sakon Yamamoto was active in the GP2 series this season with the BCN Competicion team. Yamamoto was unable to score any points so far but his focuss will now be all on Spyker F1.
Speaking about the signing of Sakon Yamamoto Spyker F1 team boss Colin Kolles said: "We would like to welcome Sakon back to the team after a long absence. He is one of the most promising young Japanese drivers who showed potential in the races he contested in 2006 and I think he and Adrian will be a complimentary pairing. Sakon's experience of the circuits we visit in the second half of the season will be a big advantage to us as we move forward."
