Hamilton tight-lipped over qualifying incident

Hamilton tight-lipped over qualifying incident

Lewis Hamilton did his best to remain tight-lipped after team mate Fernando Alonso held him up during the final tyre changes in qualifying. The result was that Alonso went faster to take pole and Hamilton was unable to defend his lead.

"Not really much to say," Hamilton replied bluntly after the session. "You saw what happened."

Alonso claimed the team had held him back at the stop to ensure he had clear air on track for his final flying lap. When asked whether he was aware of this, Hamilton replied, "No I think you should ask the team that."

"I've been very quick today and the team's done a fantastic job to get the car in good shape," he added. "We had a very good pace. Going into the race I feel very optimistic and we have a good strategy."
