Albers returns at Spyker next week

10 August 2007

Christijan Albers will be back behind the wheel of a Spyker Formula 1 car next week during a demonstration day in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The Dutchman, who was replaced by Sakon Yamamoto at Spyker, will join the 'Bavaria City Racing' event - an event through the streets of Rotterdam.

For Christijan Albers the show in Rotterdam might be a bit of a surprise. The 28-year-old Dutchman was ditched by the team last month and replaced as there were financial issues between the team and Albers. Albers though is glad he can join the event for the third time in a row. "I really look forward to the event," Albers said. "There isn't any event in the world where we see the fans so close to the action. It is amazing to race a Formula 1 car through the streets of Rotterdam really."

Albers will be joined by Spyker driver Adrian Sutil and Renault drivers Heikki Kovalainen and Nelson Piquet jr.
