23 August 2007

Nick Heidfeld and the BMW Sauber Formula 1 team is improving fast. The team is currently the third best team in the championship standings and announced earlier this week to continue racing in 2008 with Heidfeld and Kubica. Heidfeld said on Thursday he hopes to fight for the championship title in 2009.

Speaking at Thursday's press conference Nick Heidfeld said: "When BMW took over the team I expected to see the team move forward, but not as quickly as we are doing at the moment. I believe we can continue to improve. Our goal is to fight for the championship and I hope we can do so in about two years from now."

Nick Heidfeld joined BMW Sauber F1 at their first season in 2006.
